I decided to try the Bertie pattern using chunky wool so he’d be big and it worked a treat! I love them 🙂
I really do love this pattern by Ilaria Caliri! You can check out all her patterns on Ravelry here
I’m currently working on the Mandala Blanket from the simply crochet magazine – designed by Hannah Cross ( the Ravelry link is here ) and am loving it – I’m enjoying the way each round is different.
I’ve tried something a bit different with the colours. Still not sure about the gold next to the burgundy but overall I’m likeing it!
I still have over 20 rounds to go – this blanket is going to be big!
I LOVE this pattern by Ilaria Caliri! It was available in issue 31 of Simply Crochet Magazine and I couldn’t wait to make one! It is also available to buy on Ravelry here
So here is my Bertie…
Of course, I thought he might be lonely so I made him a friend…
I named her Bernadette. I’m not sure about her dress – it didn’t turn out quite as imagined but I still think she’s cute.
I have the feeling I will be making many, many more of these!
It’s official! I love Hello My Name is Amineko: The Story of a Crafty Crochet Cat by Nekoyama and I adore making sleepy kitties 🙂
Here are some that I’ve made.
Big kitty! See picture below for size difference. I didn’t realise he’d be that big lol
See? I’m completely addicted.Â
It’s a great pattern and I love the book. It gives you great ideas for different facial expressions / how to make the kitties have different personalities! It made me want to make a whole bunch.
Plus I’ve found they go down a treat as gifts!
This is my latest crochet creation. It was a birthday gift for a friend (and yes! Â I really did want to keep her!)
The pattern is from My Crochet Doll by Isabelle Kessedjian – it’s a fantastic book that I highly recommend. Â She also has one coming out in April called My Crochet Animals and I can’t wait to get my hands on that!
Welcome to Gyzmo & Gideon!
Having never tried it before I decided I wanted to learn crochet and fell in love with it. Â That was just over a year ago. Â I love making toys and blankets (actually I think I have a bit of a blanket making obsession but more on that later…)
I also tried out needle felting which I also love (but which also proved painful when I kept stabbing myself in the fingers!).
More recently I’ve tried sewing – I love making toys and this seems to be a great medium for it, Â I’m still in the very early stages with sewing but am enjoying learning something new.
Gyzmo & Gideon is a way to showcase my efforts – the things I’m making, the books I interested in checking out, patterns I fall in love with, and so on.
I hope you stop by and let me know what you think 🙂
